Active vs Total Browsing Time
To track employee productivity more effectively, BrowseReporter offers a more refined measurement of recording URL visits by: “Active Time” vs. “Total Time”. Managers can clearly differentiate between how long a URL is opened and left idle and one that is opened and actively used.
Active Time: tracks the time that the browser window is active. If a browser loses focus or is minimized, tracking will be discontinued.
Total Time: measures the total time a URL page was kept open.
This distinction of measuring the duration of URL visits, clearly provides organizations with an effective means of identifying employees that are abusing Internet usage on company time.

Real Time Monitoring
BrowseReporter’s integrated Real Time URL Tracking feature, allows managers to almost instantly view the employee Internet browsing activity. Web usage data from your user’s system is automatically uploaded in 5 second intervals. This upload time can be customized to suit your requirements.

Bandwidth Monitoring
Bandwidth monitoring has become an integral aspect of network management. Isolating abusive users who upload or download large files can significantly decrease network congestion.
Through BrowseReporter’s bandwidth monitoring utility, you can track the traffic on a i) per User or ii) per computer basis. Monitor both the send and received bandwidth consumption. The bandwidth report, identifies offensive Users or computers with excessive traffic activity.

Remote Screen Capture
Track employee/student activity, by capturing screenshots of their computers. Identify users who are spending excessive amounts of company/school time on unauthorized sites, chats, games and etc.
Save the screenshots for your future reference of employees’ activities. The snapshots can be saved to a folder of your choice

Email Reports
Through the Email Reports feature, the BrowseReporter reports can automatically be generated and emailed to the manger/administrator. This eliminates having to rely on the manual process of creating reports.
Simply create the profiles of the specific reports. Then create the schedules. At the scheduled date/time, the reports of the most current data will be generated and emailed.

Schedule URL Tracking
Collecting URL information at all times can often be execessive. For example, managers, may only be interested to track browsing activity during business hours only.
Through the URL Tracking Scheduler, you can schedule the time ranges when the Internet activity should be collected. Browsing activity outside of these schedules will not be collected. This also helps to manage the database size.

Idle Browsing Time Limit
Web activities that are perceived to be inactive or idle can be suppressed from the final report by defining the “Idle Time”.
The Idle time limit filters out web sessions that are perceived to be inactive or idle from the final report. This function is optional and the time limit value is defined by the administrator. The URLs with a web session period longer than the idle time limit will not be displayed in the reports.
For example, if a user leaves an Internet browser open on a webpage while he is away from the desk, this web session’s duration will be accumulated in the reports (even though that user is not physically there). If the idle time limit is enabled, then this session will be excluded from the report. This will give a more accurate result of the total user browsing time when the idle time limit is set to a suitable value.

Remote Installation of Clients
BrowseReporter Clients can be installed remotely from the Console on any system available on the LAN.
With Remote Client Install, you will have the comfort of deploying all of your BrowseReporter Clients from a central location.

Exclusion list
Excluded List utility on the BrowseReporter Console allows the URL’s in the excluded list to be suppressed from the report.

Export URLs to BrowseControl
The BrowseReporter reports provide detailed information of URL activity, time of visiting these sites and the duration of these visits.
Once the offensive sites have been identified, organizations may need to take action on this activity. One common course of action is to take this list and export it to the blocked list of your Internet blocking software, eg BrowseControl.
Alternatively, these reports are also beneficial in identifying sites that are relevant to your business. In this case, the URLs can be exported to the Allowed List of your Internet blocking tool.
The URLs can be exported directly to the BrowseControl software. This list is exported to the “URL Filter List” of BrowseControl. In addition, the URLs can also be exported to a txt file.

Non-intrusive program
BrowseReporter is very small program that runs in the background as a Service. It quietly records every site that has been accessed without the users knowledge.
However, if you wish to notify your users that their systems are being monitored, then a customizable message can be displayed at startup.

Web browsing data stored centrally
Data from each client PC is stored centrally on the administrator’s system. On a daily basis, the data is scheduled to be uploaded from the client PC to the central database. The latest data can also be requested on an ad-hoc basis.

Improved Architecture for Console and Client
Now available on an even more powerful and robust common console, CurrentWare Console, the Internet filtering and monitoring policies of both BrowseControl and BrowseReporter can efficiently be administered through this common interface.

Terminal Server Compatibility
BrowseReporter now support a Terminal Server environment. Internet access or web monitoring of thin clients can be administered by installing the new CurrentWare Server/Console and the CurrentWare Client on the Terminal Server.
